Construction and Technology Law

WE ACTIVELY PROMOTE A SPIRIT OF MUTUAL TRUST AND CO-OPERATION IN THE WORK WE CARRY OUT.

Our experience of construction and engineering disputes starts with the decision in Henry Boot Building v. Croydon Hotel & Leisure (1985) 36 BLR 41 in which we acted for the consulting engineers.

Our latest report case is that of H G Construction Limited v Ashwell Homes (East Anglia) Limited (2007) BLR at 175 before Mr Justice Ramsey on the 1st February 2007 concerning the enforceability of an adjudicators award.

We provide advice on all aspects of construction and engineering law. We have particular expertise in dispute resolution, construction insolvency and the NEC and JCT standard forms of contract.

We resolve disputes using adjudication, arbitration, expert determination mediation and litigation in the Technology and Construction Court in both London and Birmingham.

We advise on Building and Engineering contracts and other collateral documents such as performance bonds, guarantees, warranties and insurance.

We have close connections with major concerns in banking, construction materials, contract management, contracting, claims consultancy, local authorities, planning, and surveying and architectural practices in the UK ( Birmingham, Cambridge and London) and Europe (France, Gibraltar and Ireland).

We are members of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and The Society of Construction Law. One of our partners holds a Masters Degree in Construction Law and Arbitration from King`s College, Centre Of Construction Law and Management London University. We provide a lecture series in Construction Legislation for Moulton College at the University of Northampton.
